INDUSTRIAL SILVER

I’ve been looking for the right outfit to pair these absolutely ridiculous shoes with, and upon savaging my wardrobe in a recent cash-for-clothes cull, I found this vintage gem – a shirt with the consistency of tin foil. With the colour tones and pearl detailing, they fit so well together it was like I had been blessed by the gods themselves. And since good things come in threes, our house is currently covered in scaffolding; which I figured would work as a cool metallic backdrop for them both. It may have been the most embarrassing moment of my life trying to WERK in the middle of my driveway for passing dog walkers – but here’s a post to prove I survived.

The shoes themselves were a massive bargain from Primark’s sale section, and came in at a whopping £3. I just love how they walk the line (get it) between completely hideous and completely amazing, combining elements of a load of different shoes that they probably shouldn’t. Primark also had this fabulously priced corduroy skirt on offer, which is perfect for creating feminine looks even when it’s coming up to winter. I’m one of those annoying people that will wear crop tops and mini skirts in the snow – so at least I won’t look as ludicrous if the material is that little bit warmer!

Most of this outfit is vintage, or scrambled from the bottom of my closets (as evidenced by the slightly mismatched socks) – and comes in at under £20. Local vintage and charity shops are a breeding ground for amazing pieces on a budget, so keep your eyes peeled for pieces that are worth their weight in gold. Or in this case, silver!

Let me know what you guys have found lurking in second hand shops in the comments below. There’s nothing better than an excellent find!
