So here it is. The blog I’ve been banging on about, the blog that has taken up numerous new year’s resolutions, and the blog that I’ve been using as an excuse to spend copious amounts of money on outfits has finally been born. It’s pretty shit – but I would be lying if I said that wasn’t part of my aesthetic. I’m all excited and nervous to be putting myself out there with this stuff and don’t really know what I’m doing, as you can probably tell by my first bash at self portraits and a bad habit of getting my bluetooth clicker in shot. Everyone’s got to start somewhere though, right?
So welcome to wacky & tacky world of Ash Millman! I’m just as disappointed as you are.
Purple is such a fun colour to play around with. It’s one of those rare shades that you can take anywhere from super feminine to dark and grungy depending entirely on what you pair it with, whilst remaining bright and eye catching in the process. I erred towards the latter with this outfit, as I couldn’t resist the stormy look of this amazing sheer top I found on Depop. If you get close, you can see the pattern is actually some next level renaissance-ceiling, cherubs and all.
I love creating outfits that centre around one colour, and what better than purple? I ended up combining a few pieces that all stick to the same palette, then broke it up with block black (faux) leather accessories to keep it a little *edgy*. And, as much as I wore the cardigan so I could jump around and scare my elderly neighbours making crashing sounds up the top of the garden, it also adds another layer of texture and brings depth with the mix of colours woven through it. The sheer + shaggy combo is perfect for when the autumn weather can’t make its mind up and you’re stuck between too hot or too cold!
So there you have it. My first fashion blog post – and, fortunately, the only way is up. You’ll have to follow me if you want to get to the good stuff.
